Re: More Torque

I assume you are using standard ESC that comes with the Clod kit? If so get yourself two Tamiya Torque Tuned motors they are relatively cheap as well. If you want to upgrade higher than torque tuned motors you will need a beefier ESC in my experience anyway. As for pinion not a clue never done it m...

More Torque

What options do I have to beef up the torque of my Clod? The Mudslingers Tires I installed have really good traction in the snow. When I'm plowing snow, sometimes both tires on an axle can get stuck, and the motor can't turn them.

I'm open to getting different motors or gearing.

Axle Stay problem

When I built my Super Clod Buster, I had a problem with the installation of the axle stays. They are the metal braces that beef up the connection of the axle to the chassis. On all 4 axle stays, I could not make the hole at the top of the axle stay to line up with the hole on the chassis (which is t...

I believe Traxxas springs are the sam diameter. I have clod springs on Traxxas shocks. They make extra firm springs for Traxxas shocks so might be an option.
What exact model of Traxxas springs will fit the stock-shocks of the Super Clod?

Beefier Springs for Super Clod

Hi, I want to get stronger springs for my Super Clod. I just want 8 springs that will direct-fit onto the stock shocks. What should I get? (I use the truck for plowing snow and just added a heavy salt/sand spreader to the rear of the truck. I could just lock out the suspension, but I'd rather just h...

Re: Plowing Snow

I'd be surprised if that helped. Not because fans don't work, but rather because if you are out in the snow, where it is COLD... and your esc is overheating.... you need a better esc that can handle the load you are putting on it. Yea, that makes sense. I'll look into a beefier ESC. Also, here's a ...

Re: Plowing Snow

I like the traxxas EVX-2 esc. I'll second that! I've run my 3906 E-maxx [Summit 775 motor, EVX-2]so long that one of my 7 cell 5000 mah batteries got so hot that the solder melted[cooking one cell] and the power wire came off, the speedo was just warm to the touch. Four years later the speedo is st...

Plowing Snow

I like to plow snow with my Super Clod Buster. Right now, the truck is stock, except for the RC4WD Mud Slinger Tires and Proline Racing wheels. The truck does a good job, but sometimes the ESC overheats. Do y'all have any suggestions of how to improve plowing performance? I've thought of locking the...

Here's my Clod with RC4WD Mudslinger tires. Added a snow plow and it works very nice!
