Re: Stock 87 build/resurrection

Those look pretty good. Just spot welded on the top mount?

Re: BLIZZARDS 101

Haven't seen a Nitro blizzard before, must be impressive. I could say the last time mine ran. Since I've been down south, not a whole lot of snow to be running around in.

Re: Dusted my old Clod Buster off after 28 years!

That's funny, I have several of that exact transmitter and also that battery charger  I think it's your call, but if it has sentimental value, I'd restore it. With maybe a few aftermarket parts. For some reason, I can't enlarge the pics, but if the chassis is cracked where the suspension connec...

Re: Dusted my old Clod Buster off after 28 years!

I get it. I'm a recent "returnee" myself. Wasn't sure what to do with the Clod....currently I have an aluminum chassis build that's kind of stalled for the moment due to funding requirements. My original clod is somewhat modified, but it was done BITD, and I have no plans to change it. I have a stoc...

Re: resurected vintage Clod...bad steering or broken parts??

The only complaint I have is that the more I "fix", the more that needs fixing. It can be a real rabbit hole. That's pretty much how any hobby goes. I hadn't bought a new RC sine late 90s-2000. Then I find sites like this, and I've recently picked up several more. Not sure what I'm going to do with...

Re: Clod crawler needs to be identified

I only found a few vague references to Clod Mod racing, I'm guessing they didn't stay around long. The chassis seems pretty nice, but I'm not sure I'm even keeping mine. I'm something of a noob at this having been out of the hobby for many years and I bought it without really knowing what it was. So...

Re: Clod crawler needs to be identified

Its a Clod Mod Racing chassis. Seems they went out of business a few years ago. I only know by way of picking up the same chassis on ebay and it still had the decals on it. I've since removed the decals and had it powder coated. http://www.clodtalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=30482 I do like those whee...

Re: My aluminum chassis build - what will it be?

Well, dang. Shows how new I am to this...the wheels I bought are too small. 1.9 I think they are. Oh well, guess I have a set for something else.

Re: My aluminum chassis build - what will it be?

Haven't really thought about a body, but I do like the off-road bugs, so that's definitely a consideration. That's a bad picture of Fluttershy, she has a Mohawk. The colors are a bit off, but maybe something like this would look good on the side of it: http://img10.deviantart.net/71f4/i/2013/008/a/8...

Re: My aluminum chassis build - what will it be?

Ok, got it all together this weekend. Looks better than I thought it would. Got some wheels on order, they'll be in by the end of the week. http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae115/wahrsuul/clods/20160125_164014_zpsq3kwbaht.jpg http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae115/wahrsuul/clods/20160125_164004_...

Re: My aluminum chassis build - what will it be?

Aw now, don't be dissing my ponies... Thought if I was to do an MLP truck, it'd be more along the lines of Vinyl Scratch or Dr. Whooves. My wife says it's "plum" purple. Despite having the granddaughter this weekend, I did manage to get the chassis and the links assembled. It looks better than I tho...

Figured as much. Here we are:

New gear case parts arrived last night. I'm thinking I might just leave the colors the way they are and see how it comes out.

Re: My aluminum chassis build - what will it be?

Well, parts are back from powder coating. I have to say I'm a little disappointed in the purple. Looked better in the sample, but on the parts it's more of a lavender color. May have to have it redone. The yellow and silver look great though. Still waiting on the gear case and to figure out the whee...

Re: Stock Kyosho USA-1

First time I've seen the insides of a USA-1, looks a lot like the Double Dare. I was disappointed by the DD as a monster truck, but I don't know much about any upgrades for it. It got run a few times then put on a shelf.

Re: Need advice for old electronics

Another question: would my old NiCD charger work with NiMH? If I have to buy a new charger as well as batteries, I might as well go to LiPO, thought I'll probably keep it down to the 2c level.
