Re: Clod crawler build

Ran the truck in the garage. It did pretty good and the beadlocks held great.

Re: Clod crawler build

Thank you! I think I enjoy building them more than running them. I swapped out the skid mounting screws for flatheads and zip tied on some plastic skid plates for the motors to protect the endbells. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad181/HoosierZ/RC/7D928255-B4C8-4EE0-A142-150D0789D9AF_zpscptwbrv8...

Re: Clod crawler build

The Super Rooster is holding up to 3S so far. I believe it's rated for 10 ni-cd cells which is 12 volts. I run it with a Venom low voltage alarm since the ESC has no lipo cutoff. I modified my battery holder to fit my 3S packs and added a steel belly skid. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad181/Ho...

Re: Machining some beadlocks

Those are nice and you mounted them on one of favorite tires! Thanks! They're functionally finished. Still haven't decided on the design for the centers. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad181/HoosierZ/RC/509C510A-44E1-4E08-B9BD-C33895598C60_zpsbhtqvbig.jpg http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad18...

Re: Clod crawler build

Thanks. I'm currently running it with some cheap Integy 55T motors, Novak Super Rooster, and 3S.

Realized I never posted finished pics with the bumpers and rock sliders. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad181/HoosierZ/RC/87B86DE7-3023-4DDB-A206-4150B4F43D4B_zpsm3arkebw.jpg http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad181/HoosierZ/RC/7FA80486-494B-4BCC-8B7E-B8B6D40B6AFB_zpsd9ktptit.jpg http://i934.pho...

Re: Machining some beadlocks

Worked on the wheels a little today and got the other three beadlock sleeves done. Centers are next.

Re: Machining some beadlocks

I plan to machine the centers similar to the wheels on my 1:1 daily driver.

Re: Machining some beadlocks

Making progress on my wheels. I finished one of the beadlock sleeves and mounted a tire to make sure it clamps the bead. After a few more cuts on the lathe, it holds the bead securely. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad181/HoosierZ/RC/FC6B0265-D23D-4F88-A099-4826D3DC70AE_zpskajpflcs.jpg http://i9...

Re: Associated ProSC 4X4

Painted a new body. I need to add a few cutouts for airflow. The short course bodies act as parachutes and adding cutouts will help make the truck more manageable in the air. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad181/HoosierZ/RC/8F30A4C1-3DF8-4F34-A95E-C9F9F7F2FC28_zps3wknkznk.jpg http://i934.photobu...

Machining some beadlocks

I've started machining a set of 2.2" beadlocks for my Clod crawler. They will be internal beadlocks with a removable center in case I decide to change the design later on. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad181/HoosierZ/RC/CD80AAC1-14AC-4C01-92FA-D0A72C8B4B6D_zpsxo6auvxs.jpg http://i934.photobucke...

Re: And so it begins....

Thank you. I'm thinking of going with a worm gear setup in my gearboxes. I can get the same 30:1 ratio that the stock gearing gives with only 2 gears. I may go with 2 more gears before the worm gear to give the option of changing gearing. The worm gear setup would not be ideal for a normal monster/ ...
