Re: Possible 6x6 Build (On a tight budget)

It’s working great on one EVX-2, and 3 45T motors. Adding two more ESC’s and batteries just increases the price it costs to drive it. Haven’t run it a full pack yet so not sure what I’m gonna get for runtime, but I need something bigger than the 3s 2200 anyway, so don’t care to count until I get a b...

Quick running vid. Sorry for the bouncy video, had my 5 yr old daughter filming, she did the best she could.

Re: Possible 6x6 Build (On a tight budget)

Yep the servo mount is very nice, and tough. Slight fitment issue getting it mounted to the axle, but a little squeeze and it's fine. Got everything wired up, drove it around for a few minutes this weekend, it's definitely cool. Evx2 handles the three 45t motors just fine. The tires are pretty firm,...

Re: Possible 6x6 Build (On a tight budget)

Cleaned up and regreased all three axles, motors and servos installed. Now I just have to make a y harness for the two rear servos, and wire up the motors and we can go for a test drive!

Re: Possible 6x6 Build (On a tight budget)

Grabbed the stl from thingiverse, and used tinkercad to change the size, and make it fit on my frame rails.

Re: Possible 6x6 Build (On a tight budget)

So I took a voltmeter to the motor leads and the reds are tied together as well as the blacks, so I am gonna tie both outputs together and run them both to all three motors, which should be here tomorrow hopefully. Trying to decide on a cab.. thinking this International Harvester might look cool, ha...

Re: Possible 6x6 Build (On a tight budget)

Got some solar d772 servos and RC4wd 45T motors on the way. Has anyone ever used an EVX-2 esc with three motors? I have an evx2 laying around and decided to give it a try, wired two motors to one of the outputs and another to the other, and it works - albeit with no load on them. I was just wonderin...

Re: Possible 6x6 Build

More progress tonight, third axle mounted. Very happy with how it's turning out. Lots to do still.

Re: Possible 6x6 Build

That's good for tonight, I'm tired and I need some more 8-32 threaded rod anyway.

Re: Possible 6x6 Build

They're from a 1/8 scale New Bright Ford Raptor, with some printed beadlocks. A little bigger than clod tires, and a lot harder. Was going to use them for a mud truck, but since I had 8, I decided to go a different route.

Re: Possible 6x6 Build

Some early fitting and prototyping of parts. Not gonna use these shocks, but I can at least get some parts made using them as a mock-up.

Re: Possible 6x6 Build

PLA because it's so readily available. I've used ABS in the past but I don't really see the need for it. Haven't had any issues with my PLA beadlocks, even on my brushless barbarian.

Possible 6x6 Build (On a tight budget)

Started tossing around the idea of building another 6x6. I've got a couple spare axles, and enough parts (minus gears/internals) to build a third. If I can scrounge enough parts up to make three full axles I may get started on this. My plan will be to 3D print most of the frame parts, except for the...

Re: Time for another crawler!

Got my Mudslingers mounted up to my sweet 3D printed beadlocks. I love these tires! Stuck the raptor body on too real fast for a quick glamour shot.
