Re: RCGUY is back on the forum

This is great! Welcome back! I was able to get a few needed items from your father during your absence a couple years ago. I’ve got a gecko laying around that I might want to get back in order again. I love that chassis!

Re: Time for another crawler!

Oh sorry, too early to tell on this build- but did have them on another build a few years back and they did great.

Nice one, looks great! How do you find the HR gears?
Amazon has them.

Re: Time for another crawler!

Time to add some pics of my progress to date. I apologize if they are huge, hard for me to properly size them with the image host. I had to come up with some way to mount my newly acquired 1/6th scale CXT body to the tiny Gecko frame, so I 3D printed some long extensions and mounted them to the fram...

Re: starting my clod pounder

I like the wheels. I had a guy on thingiverse draw a set for me and they turned out nice. Printed a set for my brushless AR60 based barbarian, and also a set for my CXT crawler. I use PLA and they are quite tough, haven’t stripped a hex yet. Kinda heavy at 100% fill, but like you, would rather not s...

Re: Possible 6x6 Build (On a tight budget)

Finally got around to this build again. Not much new, gotta figure out a way to mount an Estes rocket to it, with remote controlled launch!

Re: Time for another crawler!

Hey all! Been a while since I’ve posted about this rig. It’s gone through some major changes recently. New body, and a new chassis to fit the huge ~19” wheelbase. Did a poor job at takin pics during the process, but will upload what I can over the next few days maybe. Here’s how it sits today... 433...

Re: Possible 6x6 Build (On a tight budget)

It’s working great on one EVX-2, and 3 45T motors. Adding two more ESC’s and batteries just increases the price it costs to drive it. Haven’t run it a full pack yet so not sure what I’m gonna get for runtime, but I need something bigger than the 3s 2200 anyway, so don’t care to count until I get a b...

Quick running vid. Sorry for the bouncy video, had my 5 yr old daughter filming, she did the best she could.

Re: Possible 6x6 Build (On a tight budget)

Yep the servo mount is very nice, and tough. Slight fitment issue getting it mounted to the axle, but a little squeeze and it's fine. Got everything wired up, drove it around for a few minutes this weekend, it's definitely cool. Evx2 handles the three 45t motors just fine. The tires are pretty firm,...

Re: Possible 6x6 Build (On a tight budget)

Cleaned up and regreased all three axles, motors and servos installed. Now I just have to make a y harness for the two rear servos, and wire up the motors and we can go for a test drive!

Re: Possible 6x6 Build (On a tight budget)

Grabbed the stl from thingiverse, and used tinkercad to change the size, and make it fit on my frame rails.
