Re: My recently acquired TXT-2

Yep, battery to the rear. It's a slow truck. You can try 3s with the stock motors for some more go. I'm running a 3900kv brushless motor. I was running 4400kv, but with the weight of the truck I was breaking stuff.

Re: My recently acquired TXT-2

I know when I went to install CPE wideners on my TXT-2 they didn't work as the axles were too long, as you have said. I switched to Clod axles and all good. I assume this would work the same for your wheels.

Re: Looking for a basher chassis for an old Clod. Boss Kong?

First off, welcome! I have pictures saved of the Boss King chassis as I thought abou fabbing something similar myself. I like the simplicity of it. Really surprised the guy is still making them. Looking forward to your build.

Re: HSP RGT RR-4 Rock Racer (New Potential Monster)

So, I bought one! Couldn't help myself, I needed a new project. Not going to make it into a MT, will use it mainly as a crawler. Should be here by the end of the week.

Re: More Torque

The torque tuned motor has more torque than the stock 27t motor, maybe marginal. I had GT Tuned motors in shafty trucks, they are 25T but had much more torque than the stock cans. Either way both of those motors have positive timing so not ideal for a Clod. I still think bang for buck 3s on the stoc...

Bugger on the body drop! One accidentally stood on one of my trucks moments after I finished it and broke the axle tubes. My luck lol.

Re: More Torque

You could also try going 3S batteries. It will give you a bunch more torque, and speed. The stock motors can handle 3S fine, just need a 3S capable esc. The Hobbywing 860 esc can take 3S; https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hobbywing-QuicRun-WP-860-Dual-Brushed-Waterproof-60A-ESC-1-8-RC-Car/282688678215?epid=1...

Re: Sixtys Guys Crawler Track

Yeh it is Alex! That bridge is quite difficult.... It has an inbuilt camber (lean) on it, so you have to drive it with the wheels almost off the edge on the high side otherwise the trucks will just tumble off. The 7 point turn near the end is quite difficult as well. The kids love it too which is gr...

Re: Sixtys Guys Crawler Track

Built the rope bridge and made a bit of a track in the yard today. Was a hit with 10yo Ryan! It was a good challenge and we ran all three crawlers on it. Gmade R1 was the best performed, just in front of the Crawler King. Clod Crawler was the worst - not enough clearance under the axles. I will make...
