Re: SMT10 required items

I agree. AR60's are at their limit with clod-sized wheels and tires with a mild brushless setup. My SMT-10 uses AR60's with an all metal trans, e-revo shafts and a 3660 3800kv brushless setup on 2s. After each run most of the screws on the axles are starting to back out and things are sloppy. But it...

Re: DirtyChevy's Project

If you're running MIP drive shafts, you can just get the MIP 6mm ball ends to mate up to the Freestyle trans and the 5mm end will bolt right up to your axles. I'm not sure what the final drive ratio is like on a Freestyle trans so with a 2400kv motor your probably have to experiment with different p...

Re: Dubbl-A's Wraith

Yea, I haven't been out in a loooong time prior to this so...almost forgot how much fun it was to go slow.
This place in PA is great. Lots of variety. I ran for solid hour and didn't get bored in the least!

Re: DirtyChevy's Project

120A esc wih a 3000kv-4000kv 3660 (size) motor with a 5mm output.
You'll be able to beat on it all day and It wont break a sweat.

I use a Hobbywing EZRUN WP SC8 120A ESC with a 3000kv motor and a big pinion in my KK2.
Mega on 2s and plain silly on 3s.

Re: DirtyChevy's Project

The build is coming along great! The upper shock mounts are interesting but seem to be a very strong setup. Any particular reason you swapped out the G-mades for King shocks? I like that you went with the Freestyle trans. I've been tossing around the idea of getting one for my KK2 but have had good ...

I think I'm going to try a body thats just a truck cab so I can have the whole rear of the tube frame exposed.
Like the the bodies for a Honcho. We'll see!

Re: Dubbl-A's SMT10

Had an old beat up set of Proline Brawlers and hit them with the only can of florescent green the hardware store had. Also, I tried out the new Jconcepts Firestorm tires for the first time. These things a a bit bigger than I thought! Check out how it makes my Renegades blush a little!

Re: Dubbl-A's SMT10

Spent way too much time fitting up the E-Revo drives shafts but it was well worth it. (not a bolt in affair...)
Very light and strong and look right at home in this chassis.

Dubbl-A's SMT10

This is my "Green SMT10 thats NOT going to be a Grave Digger" build... :) I wanted to try out one of these great looking chassis so I picked up a frame and links off of eBay. I have a lot of the goodies to get things rolling already laying around so I'm hoping to keep this a simple, budget minded bu...

what type of diff cup are you using?
Stock diff cups.
I just set all the diff gears in place and put some 200k in.
Not too much though. Just enough to cover the gears and closed it back up. I'm sure some will leak out over time but so far it's working out well.

Re: HELP! Axle/Diff questions (AR60)

I use HPI gears in my AR60's.
Filled with 200K Silicone Oil and no issues.

As soon as I found out, I excitedly told my wife and she said I achieved an even higher level of dork.
WIN-WIN! :) :)
