Re: My collection so far...

Not a huge amount to report in all honesty . Two SRB projects still on the work bench :- > the bluey silver Rough Rider awaiting roof, spot lights and a few final details > the pearl white and Nautilus Blue Scorcher shell has been flatted and polished, the side window trim painted matt black, and I'...

Re: My collection so far...

No problem - always happy to help ;) Pleased to report the repro tyres are now on the Hilux, but i'm now thinking with their smaller size (87mm OD) that i should really go back to the original leaf springs - as hard as they are, the current custom springs raise the ride height about 12mm and its now...

Re: My collection so far...

Can you send me a link to the tires? My buddy is rebuilding a Bruiser that he got from me and was looking for tires. 8) These are the Hilux ones.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tires-set-for-Tamiya-Toyota-Hilux-4X4-first-generation-58028-RA1028/282480469993?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p20578...

Re: My collection so far...

One less in the collection, sold my NIB Egress 2013 re-release last night. I might regret it down the line, but I still have my original (100% from original kit, not one replacement screw even) and the Egress i built from parts in 2012 (I like to think i showed Tamiya they could do it again lol!!) a...

Re: SFC K's CC-01 Ford Ranger

Very nice Jeff - with a few mods the CC-01 can be a very capable crawler / trail runner as you've discovered.

The front brace and body mount are perfect !

Re: My collection so far...

Well a little update.. Durango DEX210 sold to a TamiyaClub member who wants to use 60% of it to build a front wheel drive racing buggy (mirroring a long running project posted on Oople.com form) - I'd considered it myself, but i'd had the DEX for over 3 years sat on display and wasn't likely to sink...

Re: Got another Clod

Well its had a few iterations over the years and have to say I liked them all - nice to see it back to a more traditional boxart colour and loving the latest wheels

Re: My collection so far...

Thanks. M-05 build finished and now residing with a very happy 12 yr old recipient. I was as pleased to have it finished in time, as the new owner was receiving it. A few finished pics, went old school with the radio gear as it was just easier to pull some out of another model to use in this, knowin...

Re: My collection so far...

Well its one step forward and three back with one of the SRB projects (the last Rough rider) - thought i was doing a nice white, gold and silver paint scheme with black pinstriping until the Tamiya masking tape reacted with the colour coats - tried all sorts of potions to remove the tape glue residu...

Re: My collection so far...

Another one departed, took all of 46 minutes to sell on UK eBay.. https://s26.postimg.org/e2qplr0p5/2_B75_E2_D3-_C437-4244-85_DE-4876_B2_E16_A9_D.jpg So I'm down to three Kyosho now - my Optima Mid Custom LWB, my restored Gallop MkII and the resto Optima that STILL needs the shell painting lol! Curr...

Re: My collection so far...

After all this activity I realised i'd bought quite a few parts that i already had #-o #-o #-o so it looks like I'll be building another SRB to consume the spares (again !) - It wasn't the plan (honest) ! Uh huh.... suuuuuuuuuuure....... ..and whats worse is that 'only a few more parts' is be...

Re: My collection so far...

Masking tape off last night, the green/blue paint was a bit thick in hindsight (lesson learned for the future, you don;t need 3 thin coats and two wet coats). End result a bit of a thick edge at the boundaries with the pearl white - onwards with a few coats of clear, then flatting and polishing. The...
