Re: Need budget friendly tx and rx

Some people like the flysky, if the price is right it may be worth it for you (I've not tried them). I've been using traxxas radio's a lot over the years but lately I've started using the tactic brand that comes with axial RTR crawlers. I can usually find used ones for 30-ish (new I think is 50, but...

Re: Andy's "Super-Stocker" Clod Buster

Not sure if you can see it, but the wheel openings are custom-cut to make the wheel base work.
(there are still lines from where I was supposed to cut)

Re: Andy's "Super-Stocker" Clod Buster

Well ... it's not everyday I do-up a new body for the Super-Stocker.... actually I've never done a brand-new body for it... Unknown body, I think it's a pro-line Tundra body for the t-maxx 2.5 if the writing on the bag is to be believed. :?: It came with only window masks, no body stickers, ...

Re: 3906 EMAXX - Couple Questions

I had good luck with mine, I think some people just abuse motors and complain when they go up in smoke.
The way you want to run it, I'd put the 12T 's back in there and use low gear. :)

Re: 3906 EMAXX - Couple Questions

You could run the pair of 27t motors off of a single 3 cell and they might be okay, but a single 2 cell would be safer. I run my clod on a pair of 27t and 3-cell, but my gearing is a lot lower... 30:1 for a stock clod vs 20:1 for an e-maxx. Your best bet is to run the "monster" traxxas titan motors ...

Re: Looking for a basher chassis for an old Clod. Boss Kong?

Not familiar with that chassis, but have built many bashers over the years. Bashing is a broad term though. You really need to lay out your driving style and how fast (in mph) you plan to make your top speed. Things you run into or jumps you go off of at 15 mph ... vs ... 25 mph ... vs .. 35+ mph ar...

Re: Waterproofing standard Clod

Most people that do that just make use of waterproof electronics. If you submerge things, be prepared to do a teardown somewhere along the way to clean things up (inside).

If wanting to motor-boat with it, seal up the tires.

Normally I would agree, but he's got mudslingers which are really heavy, and he's pushing snow.

Re: More Torque

That is correct. You could go to 35t or 45t motors and also 3S lipo batteries. Another option if you don't still have ladder bar suspension would be the titan monster 550 set-up out of the brushed full-sized e-revo, which uses the EVX-2 esc and a pair of 2S lipos (for a total of 4S, and that combo m...

Re: Beefier Springs for Super Clod

Sorry, I don't. I usually use various e-maxx e-revo push rods and tow links and different ends to make suspension links. I've thought about using plastic tubing, but have yet to try it.

Re: Beefier Springs for Super Clod

Use the upper "C"... but I don't like that style. (the classic old-school 4-link)
