Re: Rise of the ECD-R8 v1

I made a reasonable modified facsimile from the sheet I used for the motor plate. http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd421/devastator2k/Mad%20Force/CameraZOOM-20151228214330030.jpg Fits pretty well. I'm going to clean it up, but will probably redo it later for a few mm more clearance. http://i1219....

Re: Enter, Brushless MGT

LOL, That is the same one I have saved to my wish list. Looks like I'll be buying one, too. Well, the batteries are crap. One of them is near death, so the run wasn't what it could be. It had sporadic bursts of power when I handed it over to my brother. What was painfully obvious wa...

Re: Enter, Brushless MGT

Yup, much bigger. 8) Did you install the longer Rival chassis or is that still the MGT chassis? This is the MGT chassis. I'm not going to change this chassis. I may do it on the other one. I love the size of this one. It's perfect. BTW, I started looking into conversion parts for mine. Just trying ...

Re: Rise of the ECD-R8 v1

OK, don't shoot me. I wasn't happy with the looks of Maxx trans in there, and I didn't want to widen the chassis, so out it went. I made a modified version of the the included MF trans plate. I can now mount my 65mm motor!! Shout out to Wonder Woman for giving me some of the scrap metal from her jet...

Re: Enter, Brushless MGT

Sweet! Someday I too will have to convert mine over. I should really try and run some nitro through mine first though, for the fun of it. These trucks are big even with the first addition, so I can realate. They do look cool though when they are moving out and put smiles on everyone's faces....

Re: Mad Force of the Barbarian

Can you flip the transmission upside down to lower the CG,and give the battery tray some room? :?: Thanks. You could flip it, but I'm not a low CG nut like the racer guys since I just bash. It also changes the driveling angles horribly. Flipping trannies works great with Jugg/TXT axles, though, sin...

Re: Enter, Brushless MGT

I finally got the Castle 6mm connectors soldered to the ESC and got everything setup for a good day of bashing. http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd421/devastator2k/MGT/CameraZOOM-20151213121431620.jpg My stupid Thunder A6 charger died while checking batteries, so I had to make do with what was le...

Re: Mad Force of the Barbarian

Well, my stupid Thunder AC6 died, so I can't do anything but wrench on trucks. I never liked the E-Revo trans in there, so out it went. I took off the 102mm cross braces and put the stock chassis braces back in, returning the chassis to stock width. I decided to go with a MF trans. I had Will G narr...

Re: Enter, Brushless MGT

Well, the Mad Forces will just have to wait. I used the money to get an ESC for my MGT. I got the Hobbywing QUICRUN 150A ESC. Now I just need to switch to 6.5mm Castle connectors for the motor. I hate soldering. It's much bigger than the Hobbywing EZRun SC8 (on the right). http://i1219.photobucket.c...

Re: Rise of the ECD-R8 v1

My parts came in for my trans!! Now I can do the top shaft conversion. http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd421/devastator2k/Mad%20Force/CameraZOOM-20150727131551110.jpg Drill out the top shaft bearing hole of the rear case so that the 3905 top shaft can pass through. http://i1219.photobucket.com/a...

Re: Rise of the ECD-R8 v1

I got the trans installed. Now I can run my 65mm motor. I'm going to take it apart again and do the 3905 input shaft mod when the parts get here. That will allow me to run the E-Revo spur and slipper setup. http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd421/devastator2k/Mad%20Force/CameraZOOM-201507231216571...

Re: Rise of the ECD-R8 v1

I have decided to go with the 3906 E-Maxx trans over the newer 3905 and E-Revo trans. I disassembled them to lock them in 2nd gear(one was already locked). I used Hard As Nailz epoxy to secure the drive cog to the gear to eliminate the slop. I installed the Unlimited Engineering SuperMaxx hardened s...

Re: Rise of the ECD-R8 v1

Narrowed my MF axles. Now I need to sell something, so I can get the Freestyle setup. Also, do I run CVD's in the rear for 4WS or no?? Decisions, decisions. I forgot to shave inside the uncut axle tube and broke the rear shock mount trying to put them back together, so I had to break the other to ev...

Thanks. It's an ECD-R8 v1. It was originally made for Twin/Mad Force axles. The current version, the Big ECD-R v2, is made to run RC4WD Digger axles.

Re: Rise of the ECD-R8 v1

Oh, boy!! I just got this in the mail today, and I just completed installing the trans. I was so excited, I forgot to take pics. This chassis is absolutely amazing!! http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd421/devastator2k/Mad%20Force/DSC_2902.jpg Now, I have to narrow the axles. Can you believe I hav...
